I'm newly diagnosed with crohns (2 weeks ago) I've had bleeding in the past but never as much as I have now, I'm not sure if I need to go see someone as emergency or if it can wait till Tuesday when I see hospital specialist. I no its gross but I've took a picture of how much blood was in my last 2 bm which was only 10 mins apart. I'm hoping that ppl on here with experience of this condition will be able to help on this issue sorry again for pictures but only way I cud explain how much blood there is. Ps it's in a tub not down the toilet so just bm in picture. Thankyou for your time 😁

Hi lady organic, Thankyou for your reply. I have it any time I eat (At mo I'm only eating once a day to prevent symptoms till I can get it under control) I also get it 1st thing in the morning and about 2/3 times during the day in periods when I haven't eaten and last few days I've been waking once each night to got toilet too. I'm not Defo sure if I have fever as I haven't got a thermometer but I feel hot but feet feel cold :-/

ok, I have been to some points where I'd go to the toilet like this picture every 30-45 minutes. that was at my worst. so I am not panicking right now knowing you can see your GI in 2 days, but obviously we are not the same patient with exact same condition and I am no doctor and I cant make a medical opinion of your case. In doubt or if you feel unwell, dehydrated or fever, you can go the the ER for check up. What you could do also is call a nurse at the GI department first thing in the morning to let them know what is going on. there should be a nurse who is able to take your call. They will help guide you into what to do.

what medication are you currently on and what dose?

I'm not currently on any medication for this. I had colonoscopy 2 weeks ago and was diagnosed with crohn n he thinks colitis too and polyp. his done loads of biopsys of insides and get results Tuesday so should find out more about what's going on with me then. I'm just concerned as the bleed has got worse over the last 2 weeks and have been bleeding for over a month now

I had that much blood while awaiting a diagnosis 9yrs ago.Dx'd Proctitis and Asacol supps.cleared it up in about a week.Use supps now as maintenance.Earlier this year was dx'd Crohns colitis and had 5wks bleed while on Prednisolone.I wasn't unduly worried, but if I had been I would have contacted my GI or IBD nurse for reassurance.I think all symptoms should be reported and added to you record.I tend to list and date them so I can discuss them at a later date.It is scarey when you're newly diagnosed, but you'll recognise signs to worry about.Best wishes, feel better soon.

Thankyou very much for your reply it's making me feel less worried knowing others have gone thru this too. Today my bm have changed again it is pure liquid form and been sick to I've ran loo at least every half hour and not managed to eat anything, I'm worrying a little that I may get dehydrated but sipping little and offen to try and help. I've lived with symptoms since I was very young was told it ibs plus other things all the time I'm so glad Im finally getting proper diagnosis I look forwards to getting it under control so I can take my children out with out embarrassing trips to the loo or hunting for a loo 😀 x

If you can't keep anything down, I'd at least call the advice nurse just to make sure you're not dehydrated too much. It's one thing to pass blood, but another if you can't keep anything down either on top of it. Just rather be safe than sorry. I'm thinking they may have some ideas to help other than going it alone.

That sounds like a typical flare for me - diarrhea (or not even formed poops) after each meal and blood too. It's because the ulcers are bleeding and you basically lose the inside of your intestinal tract....it takes awhile (at least 2 weeks) to grow back.

I would call your doctor and ask to get on prednisone to help with this flare until he gives you an RX for your Crohn's. My doctor did this to me as well (diagnosed me but then gave me no medication for 2 weeks until my 'follow up' even though the colposcopy caused a huge, painful flare that lasted a long time). I'm in the process of switching doctors because it really is a terrible thing to do to a patient :/

Hugs
