Hi all,

Soooo, this is a random question but was wondering if any of you have experienced this. I was recently diagnosed with Crohn's (3 weeks ago) and haven't started any treatment yet but have modified my diet. But a couple of months ago, I've noticed that I have had more white, milky discharge after and a week before my period. I am also on birth control.

I called my gyno and asked if this was normal and she said it was fine unless there's no odor or burning, etc. I haven't had any of these additional symptoms and am STD clear as of May 2015 - last pap.

I mean it's not bothering me but this is just something new thats going on down there and wondering if this is something that I should get checked out but really don't want to go set up a drs appointment, pay my doc to tell me - oh ur fine, etc. Thought I'd ask here.

Excuse the TMI, too.

Hmmm. Good question.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure how to answer this. I've had Crohn's symptoms since around age six, so I haven't had a stark before / after Crohn's situation. And I'm really not sure how much discharge is usually considered normal. However, I would make a guess that I also have somewhat heavy discharge at irregular times - but I don't know if it could be Crohn's related.

Like your GYN said, it's not really concerning unless there's a lot of odor, burning, or discoloration of the discharge. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it unless those (or other) symptoms occur, or unless it gets significantly heavier and more frequent. Definitely bring it up at your next appt, but I myself wouldn't schedule one just to discuss it.

Don't worry. There is no such thing as TMI here. :)
