A year and a half ago, I took my first treatment of Entocort for a bad flare up, and it reduced all symptoms within 3 weeks. Then right after I took three infusions of Remicade (my Dr. said a study indicated that 3 infusions usually works as well compared to ongoing infusions for fistulas).
Everything seemed ok until about 6 months later. Got some minor symptoms (minor cramps, bloating, low grade fever) so I went to my Dr. She prescribed Entocort again. Took the normal 6 week (3 mg), 2 week (2mg) and 2 week (1 mg). Wasn't helping. So, with a 1 1/2 week intermission, my Dr. said go back on Entorcort. Took the 9 mg for six weeks, then reduced to 6 mg, but at this point, nothing was improving so I stayed on 6 mg.
Went back to my Dr. Took a blood test, and my ESR count indicating inflammation was 84....very high. She told me to stay on 2 mg. Took another blood test about a week later and it is now 94. I've now been on Entocort for about 5 months. So, I'm going to try Humira in about 2 or 3 weeks.
My symptoms aren't real bad, but I know that the high inflammation is not good, and I'm worried that if Humira doesn't help, what then?
Has anybody had this problem in not being able to reduce inflammation?
