I have very little fat on the tops of my legs so when I inject my Humira into the top of my legs it always feels like it is going into muscle instead of just below the skin, even if I try to squeeze my skin together. I don't think Humira is supposed to be intramuscular, so was wondering if anyone thinks that is an issue, or experiences the same? Should I only be injecting into my abdomen and avoiding my thighs?

Hi im the same re no fat on thighs. I dont do humira but i thought may be injecting by squeezing the top of the outer side of the thigh near your hip may be easier as mucsle tends to be front n back.
Perhaps give that a try ... :hug:đź’•

Thanks. Does anyone else use this area for Humira injection? Would there be any concerns about effectiveness by changing the injection site area?

I use my abdomen area. I couldn't handle my legs. I would think it would be your preference of those three areas mentioned. I still get the pain, hive up to the sie of an egg for a few days. But nothing like the thigh. I can't imagine the arm...

I always do abdomen. I could do a good pinch there but definitely not in thighs.
I honestly did not know arm was an option or legs. I was instructed thighs or abdomen only. It burns but doesn't really hurt but maybe I am just used to it after 7 yrs . Good luck.

Abdomen over here. I only started last week and had the loading dose. Nurse said to inject into both thighs and abdomen as it was four injections. I hated the thighs...no fat there..so abdomen is the place I will stick to now. ;-)

Thanks to all the advice. Abdomen works fine for me, but my nurse recommend changing the areas as much as possible to avoid building up scar tissue so was wondering what other options there are other than the thighs.

Thanks all
