Hi all! New to the forum and was just DX with CD in July 2009, been suffering a long time tho. I'm struggling very much with getting this into remission and am so relieved to have people online to talk to and read about that understand this disease and be apart of such amazing an community.

I'm taking Entocort, Pentasa, Cipro, Flagyl, Probiotics, Celexa and Ativan. The doctor wants to discuss Remicade infusions next week, kinda nervous about that.

I've learned the hard way to GET A 2ND OPINION!! LOL I always recommend now that when your gut tells you something is wrong and whether or not you have a good doc, just get a 2nd opinion, PLEASE!

Happy to meet you all and hope to contribute some as your posts have contributed in helping me :) This sure is a lonely, painful, sufferable and boring way of life to live when not in remission eh!?!

Hi Bella Sky - welcome to the forum!
I am surprised that your doc isn't going to see if the other meds kick in first before putting you on Remicade. If you were JUST diagnosed, I'd think that he/she'd want to see what happens for a while on them.
I am on Remicade, and it is working very well though - just to let you know.

Welcome Bella sky
I wonder if doctors are taking a more aggressive approach? I know there has been more research with all the new immune modulating drugs and many more options than earlier years?

Bella Sky, I pray that you have a speedy remission!!

I never thought to check responses to my intro till now, thanks guys for leaving some love!! Actually, I was misdiagnosed June 1 with microscopic colitis, so I was prescribed entocort, asacol and rubicol until I decided to get the 2nd opinion. Also, I am a professional nagger when I dont feel well, because I used to live to work, learn and help others - I breathed everything else BUT me. And I'm determined to get it back, at least some of it. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to pull off everything I was doing but at least some of it. I need to get better to support myself, apartment, work, etc. I still feel so lost though. Day at a time.
