I don't suffer from anmeia but my wife does. Her recent blood test revealed she was anemic and also low on some vitamins. My wife is currently in a great period where the symptoms are in remission but certainly needs supplementation. We are going to try and have a baby in the next little while so getting this under control is critical. Two questions for everybody:
1. What type of iron supplement is available? One that won't hurt her stomach or cause constipation? Is there a brand name that has been good for you?

2. What name brand of multivitamin have you had success with? My wife's stomach would get irritated with some vitamins so any suggestion you may have is greatly appreciated.

Lastly, this forum is amazing. I hop on here so I an educate my self and help her as much as possible. Your help is appreciated...

When I had to take iron ,I remember that the little red pills that were jus tcalled 'iron' in the store made me crampy. There is a iron pill called Slow F.E. that is way more expensive, but very gentle on t he tummy. It must be ferrous sulfate (sp) form the F.E., and I don't know how much you need or even if that's the right kind, but now you have a name that you can ask about.

The iron supplement is actually made by my local health store, I don't know if you have one near you. It's called Ever'mans. There is a website and a contact page, maybe you can order it? No bad effects from them as long as I take them with dinner.

The multivitamin I take is the one for people on the SCD. Here's thelink:

My anemia is pretty much gone thanks to the SCD and these two supplements. A month after I started the iron supplement, my iron shot of 17 points!
