I have only had problems with inflammation and pain in my colon and ileum which now seems to have subsided which is AWESOME!

Now, I don't have pain but I see to have irritation drinking cold things, it feels like it sort of burn down the pipe as it goes down, instantly. It's weird. Also, acidic things like orange juice, hummus, and any peppers or spices are irritating as well.

Is this irritation but not pain indicative of an inflammation in the upper area?

I have also experienced this, the chest pain I got with it was really quite uncomfortable. I can relate to the burning sensations upon drinking too, anything but water set it off. However since I started on omeprazole 40mg twice daily this seems to have pretty much sorted the problem. I only get symptoms from this occasionally now.

Maybe you should go and speak with your doctor about this, because it definitely can be helped!

i definitely have been acidity from certain foods but that has been all along, this was a strange and new experience which scared me because i dont want inflammation and the last time I had my endoscopy was like 10 months ago and I don't want another one lol.

Not to scare you but this is what happened to me-

3 weeks ago I started having amazingly bad acid reflux, then a flare hit and I ended up in the hospital for a day. I'm still flaring like a crazy woman, so do get it checked out. Could be a sign.

ive had pain in my throat as well. 2 different reasons though.
1) acid reflux brought on by a long course of prenisone. ive been on prevacid ever since and it keeps it at bay
2) ulcerations in my throat that they think are just caused by the crohns itself. but they never actually looked, so no one really knows for sure.
ironically, the prednisone took care of this problem. gah! one solution causes the other problem.

I had a lot of acid reflux before my diagnosis too. Sometimes the pain gets so bad I get a little paranoid that I may be having a heart attack! I guess acid reflux is somewhat common for this disease as well. Oh the joys.
