Hello, all.
I am a 32 year old woman, wife, and mother of 3 kids under 5. Two weeks ago, I had a normal BM with a lot of bright red blood in the toilet bowl. This happened twice that day. I had been feeling achy in my back, but I thought it was because I was doing PX90 and hurt all over. My husband urged me to see our GP, so I did that week. He did an exam for hemmoroids and a blood test, and every thing came back clear--he said he couldn't see a reason for the bleeding. He told me it was probably nothing, but could be Crohn's or colitis and we should wait and see if the bleeding occurs again.
Last week it did occur again, and I've been feeling achy in my back, worse than in the past few weeks. I get kidney stones frequently, and had I not had the blood, I would just assume it was a kidney stone or gas pain... It usually is in one of my sides but one night I woke up and it hurt right where my tail bone is. Additionally, last week I had some ulcers in my mouth. Since then I have had both constipation and diarrhea. My stools appear normal.
I made an appt with a GI doc and when I told them of my symptoms, they bumped me up from April to Monday. Then I randomly ran into a friend whose husband was just diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and she said he had my same symptoms (but they went on for months.)
I'm a young mom--I need to be active and healthy and, well, alive. I'm scared to death. I am guessing that Monday the doc will schedule a colonoscopy and then there will be more days of waiting while that all gets scheduled....I need to know what is wrong with me. Do my symptoms sound like Crohn's or something worse??
