I've been taking this medication for about 2 months now, Medrol (16mg) once per day. Not allowed to post links but it is basically methylprednisolone, the substance. I was wondering if it is the same as the well known Prednisone. I have noticed that I lost a lot of weight lately, there might be other factors too, but I am quite worried :(

From what I can tell, it's not quite the same but is very closely related. Apparantly it is prednisolone which is methylated at the 6th ring. Whatever that means. I do know that prednisolone is the pro drug (converts into in the body) of prednisone. They are both corticosteroids, and have very similar uses and side effects.
