Hi all,

I was diagnosed with crohns about a year ago, and in that time not a whole lot has changed. I still have a fair bit of mucous, with nearly every bowel movement. The doctor doesn't seem to think this is a big deal, as otherwise I feel ok besides left lower back pain. Anyone else experienced this? And if so could you provide some info on your particular case. thanks

chris

I have seen mucous before, this is actually a question I've been meaning to ask my GI, because I've always wondered on the meaning of seeing mucous Vs. blood, what does it mean.

Yah, it is really weird. I have both pretty regularly, but I feel pretty alright. Sometimes I wonder whether I have crohn's or an infection.

Yeah i also have mucus and lower back pain which seems to have gone away since i started my meds(prenisolone, humira)!

I'm with Pen on this one - I was told is was the lining and I am finding now, post surgery, that when it starts to become bad (worse than surgical healing) I may be seeing a flare day or two come ( form e, flare days are associated with a lot of pain). Lower back pain is pretty consistent for me - but on the right side - told it is probably the sciatic nerve (sp?) as the paim will radiate to the entire leg. When healed and can lie on my tummy, massage therapy may help I am told.
