My Gastro has prescribed Bentyl for my stomachaches and abdominal pains. Does anyone have any comments on how well it works? Or does it cause you any side affects? I would appreciate your feedback ASAP.:sign0085:

I used it for a bit. Its mostly an antimotility drug... its supposed to stop the spasms (if you are having those). I know my Crohn's hasn't really ever been a function of bowel spasms so I only ever took it at the beginning before I was completely diagnosed. Usually Bentyl is used for IBS because generally IBS people present with bowel spasms.
Its such a weird drug though- it makes you not sweat. I would be out in college running or doing athletic things and I wouldn't sweat! It was so weird. Can also cause dry mouth.
