and she did fairly well! They did a CXR to confirm ng placement (which was in the esophagus instead of the stomach...which probably happened when she vomited a month ago. While it still worked fine for tube feedings, the radiologist wanted it advanced for contrast injection. It coiled in her throat and popped right out! Izzi was thrilled after this and agreed to drink the contrast.
It really tasted pretty good...we got at least 750 ml down, IV in, scans done...YAY! I spoke with the radiologist who told me that no abnormalities jumped out at him but that he wanted to review it in detail.
SOOO I am hoping the small bowel is clear.
The MRI tech said there was a bit of motion on a few (I held my breath with her...some of them were too long for me, let alone a four year old!) but that he was very happy with the scan technically.
We are going to see how she does without the ng tube for a few days.
I am considering having her drink some of the peptamen and trying our old diet again.../she is SO thrilled to be without it that I am not sure I am willing to put it back in. Time will tell...the story of our lives lol!
