Hello All,

My son 12 y/o son was just recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. He loves sports and all he could think about is how we could no longer play baseball again with this disease. Turns out, Jake Diekman, a pitcher for the Texas Rangers also battles with Ulcerative Colitis too...Jake has now been a huge inspiration to Chris and I wanted to share Jake's campaign in case there are any other kiddos suffering out there that are big sports fans!

Jake Diekman of the Texas Rangers just released a limited edition T to raise money for Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America! Check it out by googling Athletes Brand and Jake Diekman! We love it!

That's awesome. I have two athletes with IBD. One is a competitive long distance runner and swimmer. The other plays softball. Think I will pick up this T for my softball player.

I want to know his secrets. Things like how he manages his colitis with baseball, what he does when he's exhausted, how he manages his meds on the road, that kind of thing. My crohnnie isn't into baseball much, but I'm sure he'd love to know how this guy manages life.

Mehita, he's very open about his Colitis and is always striving to make a difference in the community. I hear he visits countless Hospital's visiting those with IBD in lots of the cities he travels to.

There's a picture on September 5th, where he met with pediatric patients and their families on the field at Angels Stadium, with part of the CCFA LA & Orange County Chapter.

Wow, I can't imagine how much work you have in front of you on a regular basis. Having 1 would be tough, but 2?! Great job keeping them in the pool, on the field, and on the trails :)

Jake Diekman, MLB Texas Rangers Pitcher, Ulcerative Colitis --Gutting It Out!

Pretty awesome seeing Jake Diekman succeeding with the Texas Rangers this year, but his charitable work off the field with this apparel company is simply awesome! Giving many thanks to Jake Diekman and teaming up with Athletes Brand to help build awareness for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. Colitis, which is a disease my son now suffers from, looks up to Jake due to his similar battle with ulcerative colitis. Being a terrible thing to deal with Jake inspires so many who believed they could never lead normal lives with such disease, but Jake, defying the odds is at the top of game at the highest level of his sport, doing his best to "Gut It Out" (a saying he has tattooed on his wrist) each and everyday. Thank you Jake Diekman and the Texas Rangers for being great role models for my son and so many others! We're proud to wear our "Gut It Out" T's!
