late/no periods after steroid treatment

Hi, I finished a 3month course of prednisolone last december. and since then my period was 2 weeks late (arrived on 30th dec 2011)

I figured that would be normal following the steroids.. but now my period hasnt arrived! its been at least 2weeks since i was due.. and no sign of it.

what i wanted to know is: how long does it take for your periods to return to normal after steroids?
im not on any meds whatsoever now.

any advice on this would be great! (ps: im not pregnant lol)

I don't know about the prednisone, but I do know that when my Crohn's is flaring my periods are very irregular. I can sometimes go several months without having one. I finally went on the pill to make them more regular, but I was having breakthrough bleeding if I took it at a different time of day than usual.

If it was me, I would talk to my GYN...everyone's cycle is different and adding Crohn's to the mix can make it very unpredictable.

When I was on prednisone for the first time I took it for a week or two and didn't have my period that month. The next month when I was off prednisone it came back. I have never been on prednisone for more than two weeks. I can't believe how long you've been on prednisone! My doctors never let me take it for too long because it weakens the bones and thins the skin. Other than a missed period are you feeling ok?

Thankyou for your replies - i am undiagnosed at the moment.
they were 90% sure i had crohns (thats when i joined here) and put me on IV steroids for 1week then it took 3months to taper off it (it took that long because i had a 2nd admission to hospital and they upped the dosage through an IV again)

Thankfully though... my period has arrived today - 3 weeks late!!!
