Hi Ladies!

I'm just wondering whether crohns can affect your period in its timing? I'm currently 8 days late, which to some of you may be nothing but if its not always on time, then the latest its ever been is 3 days. I'm 22, definitely NOT pregnant as I'm not sexually active, and even when I was on pred it was never this late (8 months ago now) I DID have a cystoscopy last month but having rung the people up they said it shouldn't be a factor.
Also, had a massive flare up this weekend, so I was wondering if that too could have been a factor. I'm not particulary stressed just getting really panicky about it. I'm also on 4 pentasa a day.

I know that periods can be affected by weight or weight loss, so it's conceivable that your flare may have delayed your period. Especially if you lost weight, are anaemic or not absorbing food and nutrients properly.

Well i'm my usual weight, and even when i did loose loads of weight when they were trying to diagnose me, they didnt stop. Maybe because i've had quite a traumatic month for tests and things its put my body into complete confusion?!

Im undiagnosed. but when i was on pred (which finished at xmas) my periods were normal. i then had acolonoscopy early feb. my periods have been between 5-14days late since january. so probably the stress of all the tests etc..

Ok thanks. Cuz I had my colonoscopy a week after my period and I did get very stressed and upset about it... so maybe thats got something to do with it?

This is a very interesting subject, I currently have the same problem.. I had my op 4 weeks ago..had my last period just before that.. well I haven't had a period since.. according to my Calender I'm more than 9 days late.. obviously no sex cud happen this month so pregnancy is out of the question..also while still in hospital I had a bit of spotting after my period ended for a full week.. doesn't make sense

i came on here looking for a similar answer gals!

like u felicity i had my surgery in the past 2-3 months. I was on steroids in hospital but am off them now and have started on pentasa.

i've had one period since op but this second one is 2.5 weeks late!!! if i was sexually active i'd be worried  but i havent been at all. i noticed i got thrush instead of my period and i wondered was this linked?!
my hair is falling out a bit and i still have pain in the area of the resection.

advice appreciated!!x
