Hello there fellow Crohnies,
So I have been suffering from this fissure located at my posterior region (6 o'clock) for a little over a year now. My Crohn's is in remission thanks to Humira and Methotrexate, but this fissure is refusing to heal with topical nitroglycerin and sitz baths.
I am not exaggerating when I say that the muscle spasms I feel directly after a bowel movement is the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. The spasms would continue for the entire day afterwards and this had made me stop eating for a while and hence not have BMs to see if it would heal like that. I am beginning to lose hope of conservative treatment and am now thinking of doing the LIS surgery and getting it over with.
Can anyone give me some advice as to what I can expect after surgery? Will there be any complication relating to wound healing and incontinence?
Many thanks.
