Links from crohns to MS

Other than that MS is an auto immune disease and Crohn's exhibits some abnormal immune system responses. Never heard of any kind of direct relationship between the two. The immune system still has a lot of unknowns to learn. Crohn's as well. I would guess odds are slim to none that they are related in any significant way, but I'm not a doctor.

They are both considered auto immune diseases and there are a couple of people on the forum who have both crohns and MS. I had Transverse myelitis which is an inflammation in the spinal cord which is related to MS and my son has crohns. My chances of getting MS are 20% now that i have had TM as an autoimmune reaction. I had no brain lesions on my many MRI's otherwise my chances would have been 80 % of getting MS. My neurologist said the drugs used to treat MS are similar in that they suppress the immune system but they are different drugs. Hope this helps.
