I've been dealing with trying to get my Humira delivered for the past couple of weeks. My mail-in pharmacy had changed, so I had to call and give them all my info again (this is the 2nd or 3rd time this has happened). Then, they said they needed a prior authorization. I called my doctors, and he was out of the office but they said they would get on it. A few days later, nothing. I called the doctors office and they finally said they did it, they just needed to hear back from my insurance and that they would update me as soon as possible. A couple more days go by and nothing. I call them again, they said we are good to go, then I call the pharmacy and they said they still received no prior authorization. I told both the pharmacy and doctors office I need my medicine ASAP and could not stress it enough. I was supposed to take my injection 5 days ago! They did not seem that concerned, but luckily I was able to get it set up for overnight delivery for delivery today. THEN, I get a phone call from the pharmacy saying that my medicine was not able to ship yesterday but instead will be shipping today for delivery tomorrow!

I can't believe what a nightmare it is trying to get important medication delivered! Has anyone gone this long missing a dose? I'm starting to feel some minor flares already... Ugh.

People stop the medication for weeks at a time during infections or surgery. It's best to stay on schedule but 5 days won't hurt you.

I know it can be a pain getting authorization and running around making sure everyone does their job so you can get your meds.

Thank you nogutsnoglory, I appreciate the help. Hopefully I finally get my medication tomorrow.

Hopefully. I always worried about it being delivered in proper conditions to make sure it's still cold. I hated when I was one of the last deliveries and half of the ice melted.

Just an update: I got my Humira in time and have taken it... I'm already starting to feel a lot better! Though I always feel a bit weird for a couple days after taking it.

I've taken it up to 2 weeks late...because I was (stupidly) testing out how long I could last before symptoms started to creep back. I guess I was hoping to discover that my body could handle going without Humira for longer than the usual 2 week duration between shots. I've learned that I can go maybe 16 days between shots, as opposed to 14. But, now, I try to stick strictly to 14 days.

I've stopped the injection for close to 2 weeks prior, during and post knee surgery. No problems at all.

Good Luck
