Just wondering out loud really, but since I had my last surgery in Aug 2010 Loperamide capsules dont work @ all. Zero effect. However & this sounds a bit strange Loperamide Syrup does work. (its meant for kids apparently).
I had a strange experience 18mths ago when admitted through A&E with a blockage & was told to take all my drugs in. The doctor said no wonder your blocked your using Immodium. What he didn't realise was that I'd gone from pure liquid diarrohea to full stop in the space of 12 hrs.
The Dr in question wasn't a Gastro specialist needless to say.

I describe Immodium as a chemical cork, that exactly what it does to me, which is why I stopped taking it. I got much better control with Codeine Phosphate.

Matt also found that Imodium capsules did diddly squat for him but the chewable tablets (Imodium Rapid) work a treat.
