Hello!
We have recently been diagnosed with SIBO and have just started a combination SCD / Low FODMAP diet.
My question is about whether the effect of the bad carbohydrates in our food is cumulative. I would love insight from an expert, or someone who has the information on good authority from a medical professional.
For example:
1/2 c cantaloupe is Low FODMAP (any more and it falls into the moderate FODMAP category)
1/4 c butternut squash is low FODMAP (up it to 1/2c and it becomes moderate FODMAP)
So I figured in these 2 cases, the effect is cumulative since the amount is specified.
My question is, if I have, say, BOTH 1/2c cantaloupe AND 1/4c butternut squash in one sitting, is that low or moderate?
Thanks!
