Ok so yesterday I was in the ER 2 hrs from where I live I got pain meds and fluids. My potassium is low and I'm dehydrated. My ct scan is good except for thicking on my colon and inflammation. I am in severe pain. I can't eat/drink without it coming out or up. What do I do? I am considering going to er here but idk what to do I don't want to be a big baby :(

If you're vomiting, you really should go to the ER. Being in severe pain doesn't sound good either. When did you have the CT scan? You might be blocked - I haven't had a blockage yet myself (knock on wood) but from what others on here have said, extreme pain and vomiting are major red flags for a blockage. Please go get checked out! Better safe than sorry! Let us know how you do. Sending hugs and good thoughts your way!

go back to A&E... severe pain, not able to eat/drink - you've got every single reason to go there, and no reason not to. even if it's just simple iv fluids you need and resting your intestines, you're not going to get that treatment at home... please, go back.

Agreed! Go back to the ER. At the very least you are going to dehydrate again, not to mention the pain. If it was one of my kids I'd be out the door now.

How much thickening and inflammation???

Dusty.

Agreed, go back to the ER. I'll never understand why people feel that they are being a baby or a bother. It'll only get worse if it goes untreated. Be strong and go back in there and say that you need treatment and that you fear you may have a blockage (they'll do tests there to see what's wrong). Also an ER visit gets you a quicker visit to the GI doc.

I agree with everyone else on here, hunny that sounds horrendous, all my love and support I am sending right out to you. You need looking after, please go to A&E and get the care you need.

Take care chick xxx

What does your GI doctor say? I would go to the ER again. You are not being a baby. Not at all. I am curious if you have a fever. I see your post is from yesterday...let us know how you are doing when you can.

heya i hope your feeling better, but when that happen to me it was a blockage and i ended up in ICU.. so please go.. the doctor told me if i would of waited any longer i could of died.. anytime you havereally bad pain and vomitting please go..

Me too, any longer and I would've died!
No one should ignore vomiting, vital sign something's wrong.
Let us know how you are
xxx

Thanks for all the support guys!! I went to the ER and they admitted me. Was suppose to get a colonoscopy this morning but it was cancelled bc I'm c diff positive. Anyone had this?? I didn't get much info on it and its kinda weird having everyone come in with gowns and masks :(

Well, its a good thing you went in to the ER!!! I have never heard of C diff before this so I am no help but I just wanted to say hi and I really do pray that you have a speedy recovery! Keep us posted.

I have c diff right now. I'm miserable too!:( Just started my second round of vancomycin today. Puked twice yesterday! Sucks! Hope you get the care and attention needed!:)

Ava - good thing you went to the ER!!! They'll get you fixed up. C Diff can be pretty serious.

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Go to A&E , i had vomiting and stuff a couple of weeks back and and they admitted me to hospital and got me through the worst of it . was suffering for 4 days before i went to A&E because i didn't want to be a pain/dramatic, but was told i really should have come straight in , hope this helps :)

quick update! just wanted to thank you guys once again for all your support and kind words. this c diff thing is very strange and really painful!! they have me on fluids/steroids/pain meds and some antibiotics. they havent given word yet on when i should be released it all just depends on how my body decides to respond to treatment. my doc wants to get this under control and then move on to 6mp or remicade. i havent had any fevers yet. but i do have a lot of swelling in both my legs and my left arm/hand. im not very hungry either so im eating maybe 20-30 percent of what they are giving me even though im trying to eat more so i can get well. but on the positive side, ive gotten some good rest for myself and my tummy and i got ahead on some school work incase something bad happens again then i wont be behind. hope you guys are doing well and thank you once again, i cant tell you how much it means to me!
