That is a great link! Thanks a lot. I am currently on this diet, and am not having trouble with it, but it is always good to have other resources to look at.

I'm on low residue diet, but it seems to be giving me constipation and this hurts my ileum. But I'm also afraid of adding fiber because from experience I know that fiber hurts me. Any suggestions?

Well, I know Cayenne pepper capsules will speed things up. In my case way too much. It did not cause any pain or anything but about doubled the speed that my food went through me. If you try it out, I would empty half of the capsule to start out with and adjust up or down as needed.

I took one per day and that was too much for me, but I have no constipation problems to begin with.

It is also supposed to increase mucous production, which I think it likely would. It is supposed to have other health benefits as well.

Cayenne Pepper is a wonderful herb. Did you know that, in many herbalists experiences, it can stop bleeding in mere seconds? It's a powerful coagulant. It also expands the blood vessels in your body and can also save someone suffering from shock, early signs of heart attack, or early sings of stroke by putting some Cayenne Pepper under their tongue.

On a related note, just like you can stop bleeding externally, you can help a bleeding ulcer by taking Cayenne Pepper pills. Expect a hurty stomach for a while if you do this though. I prefer Cayenne Pepper tea with honey.

But I digress, I would look into taking some slippery elm for your constipation Mazen. Sorry for the late response.
