Hello everyone!
So me and my boyfriend both suffer from tummy issues... What a perfect match we make. He has an appointment with a specialist in a month and a half. Our family doctor put him on entocort which did help for a while but they took him off of it, I guess this wasn't meant for a long term solution. Now he's back going to the bathroom many times a day. Does anyone know of a drug we could ask our doctor about to reduce the D while he waits for his appointment? I'm on amitriptiline ( not sure if that's the proper spelling) could this be an option?
He has tried over the counter product like imodium but it didn't help much.
I wish I could help him but I'm in the same boat, good thing we have 2 bathrooms in the house lol.

Hiya Tiffany

I'm on Amitriptyline too but it doesn't stop the diarrhea, it helps with spasms and headaches.
The only med I use when I have severe D is Codeine Phosphate at 30mg, this drug is addictive tho and can cause constipation, so can't be used for long term, but it stops D in it's tracks if taken for a few days. On prescription only too.

Good Luck

Thank you :)
I feel so bad for him. Even though his appointment is a little over a month away it feels longer being stuck in the bathroom all the time.

Questran is a good one for the D. Generic name is Cholestyramine Resin.
