manuka honey

hi guys n gals.has anyone tried or trying the manuka honey in their diet??ive seen and read about its healing purposes but not realy tried it yet, spoke to some ppl who have tried it for various things but havnt heard from many ppl with crohns who take it,be interesting to see what it does or doesnt for that matter....

I have heard of it being used to reduce H-Pylori infections, but I have never used it personally.

I do think H-Pylori is often involved with Crohn's, but is not the cause of Crohn's.
The bacteria did cause some of my symptoms concerning the Stomach.

Ive been using manuka honey for about 3months now. I take 2 spoonfuls almost everyday. One major thing I have noticed since then is how before I could not tolerate anything spicy at all. I would put the smallest drop of hot sauce in my food and it would ruin me. Now Im able to eat spicy things and not have it bother me at all. Im confident enough to say its the manuka honey as its the only thing Ive changed in my diet since then and havent been on any new medications. Again this is just my experience, sure its different with everyone, only thing bad thing I can say about manuka honey is the price.

I tried it last year before I was close to a diagnosis and didn't know what was wrong with me. I can't say I noticed any difference at all but know that everyone is different and these things are always worth a try

When I had my H-Pylori infection, I could not tolerate coffee, citrus, anything spicy or acidic.

Once the infection was gone, I could consume any of these, and still do. That may be why bangarang can now eat spicy foods.

I tried for awhile. I can't say that noticed any major improvement. I'm not sure if any improvement I had at the time could have been attributed to the honey, the yoghurt or the flax I was eating at the time, or just placebo effect.

I came away thinking it was a waste of money. A tasty waste of money.

Ive heard about this stuff, whats the difference between that and normal honey? (except it comes from a different place) Is it supposed to be the pollen they gather which is better? Bloody expensive though so i wont be buying it any time soon

aye rygon its the wae its pollenated i think but like you say its expensive and not 100% tested so can be hit or a miss.but then again if it worked and at 20quid a jar then that would be cheap....
