Hi everyone,
I just wanted to discuss people's thoughts on remission. What does it mean to be in remission for you? I feel like I am in remission... but I'm not sure. For those who are in remission or know what it's like, what do you usually notice? :eek2:

I am not in remission, well, there are no signs of inflammation, or disease, but i still have all the symptoms, D, cramps, pain, pain after meals and restroom. Just curious what YOUR noticing for you that is different and gives you the feeling of being in remission? I had asked a simalr question a while back. Like can you tell when you've entered remission? Does your energy levels return, are u able to eat more freely, are bowel movements more normal etc etc. Cuz i am just scared of if there is no active inflammation or disease why does my body still act and feel the way it does...

Yeah, that's what I am confused about too. For me, after two infusions of Remicade, I feel in the best shape that I have ever felt since being diagnosed. My energy is coming back, I am eating a lot (appetite came back), my bowel movements have been pretty normal now, I don't wake up at night to use the bathroom and I'm only going 1-2 times a day. Also, not really having any abdominal pain or being fatigue.

Ok, thanks so much. Thats what i was curious about. I had a resection, and immediately after surgery, i felt great, but, then it went away and all the old familiar feelings returned. I started remicade, but had no different feling, swithed to humira, and actually had more stomach cramps immediately following the loading dose. So just wanted to make sure that you actually would "feel" or "notice" that feeling of being better, like increased energy, appetite, etc. I dont use the bathroom all day everyday, but, then again, i am only eating once a day, and after i eat that meal i generally hit the bathroom for the next couple hours, sometines in the middle of the night. So thanks for ur response, aprecciatr it, and glad to hear you are feeling better. Good luck to you.
