meds question

I'm going on monday 8/1 to see my GI doctor its been 3 months since i was diagnosed and I finally get to see him and discuss options. Well I'm down more weight and have questions about what med should I suggest? I need something I can't take this anymore. I'm losing 1 to 2 lbs a week. Any suggestions would e great! I'm thinking Remicade or prednisone....

When I first got crohn's I dropped from 145 pounds to 117 in a matter of a month or two. I took prednisone and had a severe allergic reaction then was put on Remicade. It has worked fairly well. I have been on it for about 3 years now I believe and I have been maintaing a weight anywhere between 120-125 pounds for awhile now. They have had to up my dose 3 times. I started on 200 mg every six weeks and am now on 800 mg every every 6 weeks. I have never had any serious side effects on Remicade however I do think my body is becoming immune to it because I'm starting to get flares more often again.

I'd have a look at azathioprine or methotrexate before Remicade just so you have the biologic 'heavy guns' for later.
