Meds ?with~ ielostomy

Does anyone here still swallow their pills or do you crush them and take them??
When I 1st came home from the hospital some of my pills were ending up in my bag after I took them....

BUT not all of them I hate this crushing them I take 9 a day and its so nasty would much rather swallow them. I cant seem to get a straight answer from anyone ....
nutritionist at the hospital says you dont need your large intestines to take meds one of my drs said I did one said no ugh,,,,,,

I looked online and cant find a thing? I need all my meds so its so annoying not knowing the right answer.

I forgot to add I have NO colon at all they took it all.

I've been taking my Salofalk in granule form.
It comes out in my bag in exactly the same as it goes in my mouth - little granules.
I have taken the tablets a few times - they haven't exited in tablet form and seem to have broken down on their little journey through my gizzards.

i lose i lot and will dehydrate ....

the only pills that come back out on me without fully desolving are "time release" pills and multivitamins. So now I take gummy bear type vitamins.
have you tried chopping the pills into forths? since it would create more surface area it make them all desolve faster.
and no, you don't need a colon for those pills to work.

Thats good to know I am pretty sure my antidepressant is the only time release and I may just cut that one in 4's then

I hate crushing them its so gross....

LOL.. Misty that was kind of hard to tell being I take over 11 some days 9 every day and some look alike and I was on pain meds them as well.

Thats strange and I Thought my food goes out fast I always say my tummy is a fast bottomless pit litarally..lol I would def talk to your doc about this. Maybe you should spread them out and only take 1 at a time. Could be too much to digest at the same time.

OH my drs know thats the frustrating part its like everyone is brain dead and has no clue what to do LOL... my nutritionist says its not possible to come out in the bag LOL.. I said oh then I will bring it over and show u lol...

LOL! haha Take a picture on your cell. My dr doesnt believe I bleed as much as I say I do.. I started taking pics and keeping a log. When it comes to your health you gotta do what you gotta do.
