Mercaptopurine

Hey i am going to be prescribed 1x daily Mercaptopurine, has anyone been on this, any advice like side effects and stuff? any info will be greatly appreciated.

What is the dosage? I was on 6MP/Mercaptopurine for quite a few years with great results and no side effects. It can have negative side effects for some that's for sure. I know some people have lost hair, lowered white blood cells, etc. Every medicine comes with potential side effects. You just have to decide whether the benefits outweigh the risks or vica versa. Good luck with your decision.

I've been on 6mp for about the last 2 months with hardly any issues. I believe it might have lowered my immune system a little bit and helped me get a few more colds than usual, but other than that no side effects. Just watch it the first five or so days as it can cause pancreatis in some people.
