Mezavant giving me diarrhea

Hi everyone,
I'm 42 year old female newly diagnosed with Crohn's this past March. Was put on prednisone to reduce inflammation and almost tapered off now. Started 4 pills a day of Mezavant a week ago, back to watery diarrhea. Don't see the point of a medication that brings back all my original symptoms. Is this temporary or should I be calling my GI to switch meds?

I'd give him a heads up. Unfortunately many meds have diarrhea as a side effect, but we all react differently to them. :ghug:

Tapering off prednisone can cause that too. And it can take a while for a new medication to take effect. Mezavant is one of the milder drugs.
