My son is vacationing with his dad a thousand miles away from me. I sent all medications necessary for his trip, including two doses of his methotrexate injection. We give him the shot every Friday evening.
Well he was supposed to travel back on Friday the 9th and so I figured I would give him the shot when he got home (I did not pack enough for this day). Low and behold he is not coming home now till Monday the 12th.
I know I probably shouldn't, but I was just going to have him skip that dose and start back on track the following Friday. Is this a bad thing to do? I think it would take more to deal with trying to call in to a pharmacy down there, pay more for it when I have it already at home. Then it throws him completely off schedule if I do it on the Monday.
Opinions anyone? Can he miss just one dose and if so, does it affect him in many ways?
Thanks!
