If this is the cause, then why is it that the medication for Crohns keeps on going for the entire lifetime. Assuming that once the patient is in remission from Crohns, then the assumption is that the patient is not infected with AIEC anymore. However, the patient has to keep on taking medications such as methotrexate or other biologics etc.
