Thought I'd share my morning juice (typical).

This mass of vegetables made 2 and a half pints of juice. It's typically what I drink before breakfast in the morning, and something similar in quantity in the evening, or sometimes a little at lunch.

Half a whole Celery, a 1 bunch of parsley, between 1-2 lbs of carrot, half an english cucumber (not always), big bunch of spinach (actually spinach sprouts they had at the store this time) a big apple (it's Saturday but I usually leave the apple out). Note the vegetables are piled up as well, so there's actually even more there than it looks in the picture.

I left the knife in the picture for scale, and it's a pretty big apple in case you're wondering about the size.

Not sure how the picture attachment will come out.

There's a day's worth of 'recommend vegetables' there easily. I will have that much again tonight.

Just thought I'd post for reference.

It's why I love the vegetable juice. All those nutrients are now sitting in my blood stream, about 30 minutes after I started to prepare it.

Thats lovely.

I do a morning smoothie.

Greens of some kind. Spring mix, chard, spinach or Kale.
a banana
a handful of frozen mixed berries
and a squeeze of lemon.

Its a good breakfast and my DD loves it too.

I am much better at this in the summer when my garden is full of greens.

I am allergic to so much raw fruit though. Apples, peaches, cherries, plums, pears, etc, all make my mouth super itchy and red. If there is a tiny crack in my lip, I will get a huge bump the size of a grape where the fruit touched it. Sometimes I touch my eye by accident after cutting an apple for my DD, and it almost swells shut. I miss those fruit sometimes, but I can only eat them cooked.

I admit I expected that pile to be a lot bigger. I'm impressed. Can't imagine trying to scarf down a pile that big, especially twice a day.

Why do you usually leave the apple out?

Haha I usually have 2 of those a day for maintenance.

I tend to eat my fruit for fibre and often have an apple with breakfast in the morning. Just in terms of variety of flavours of what I'm eating if I'm having an apple and some fruit with breakfast I don't want my juice to taste like apple too - even a little bit of apple makes everything taste like apple in juice.

But it was Saturday morning and I wasn't having my usual oatmeal and fruit, I was having eggs and bacon instead :) And I had a sweet tasting drink with it to treat myself.

Yeah it's weird but I actually like the taste of raw vegetables, juiced or not. Juicing them they seem sweeter than eating them raw, but I like them and I like the variety. I miss it if I don't juice.

Just juiced some carrot, celery, parsley and 1 beet. Yummy.

I only ever use an apple or green grapes, if I need to sweeten a bitter green juice.

Example: spinach, parsley, celery & cucumber juice.

But slowly weaning myself off them.

Learning to enjoy plain spinach, parsley, celery & cucumber juice.

Often add a touch of lemon juice instead of sweet apples.

Try just adding some carrot to it. If you do half carrot juice to everything else you are juicing things will likely taste very sweet and if you don't use more than half carrot it shouldn't taste overwhelmingly like carrot.
