Hey Guys,

So I'm still very new to CD and trying to figure everything out, and due to that have a quick question I'd love your thoughts on...

A quick background before I start: My illeum is still inflamed and I'm currently on 40mg of prednisone and flagyl and cipro to treat 2 small abscesses...

So anyways....

I had hibachi last night for the 1st time since being diagnosed (miso soup, noodles, chicken, shrimp, and fried rice). While I would normally eat everything on my plate before I was diagnosed with CD, this time I only ate half and brought home a bunch of leftovers. I also stayed away from the salad and veggies, as they have been bothering me lately.

Everything tasted amazing and I felt fine the entire night as well as this morning and even had a BM last night and this morning that wasn't diahreah). However, since eating breakfast (bagel with cream cheese and glass of OJ, which I've had before and am normally fine with) and taking my meds, I started experiencing a decent amount of pain in my midsection, that I havent felt for the last few days since starting the meds...

So my question is...when u guys eat a meal (especially a new one that you are testing out), does it normaly bother you within a few hours of eating it, or have you experienced pain from foods that next morning, even when u didnt initially have any pain when u first woke up?

Hope that makes sense, and thanks for the insight. :)

Hi Drummer - That probably depends on how fast food moves thru your system. I have a VERY slow digestive process - salads and raw stuff comes thru in 3-4 hours, but the rest doesn't come thru for about 12 hours. This is pretty surprising b/c I am missing my entire colon.

So if something is going to bother me, it's usually 8-12 hours afer I eat it, as it's make it's way thru.

A detailed food diary, and how you feel during the day and night, might be helpful. Also you might want to add only 1 new food at a time so you can ID what's causing the trouble.

Good luck! Hope you feel better soon! - Amy

Hi Drummer

If I eat something that isn't happy, I know about it straight away! immediate belly ache,
There is a thread on here about transit times, maybe someone can find it for you, everyone is different with food, I, for one, would have terrible pains if I ate soup, I tend to steer away from what I call 'sloppy' food, and feel much better on the low residue diet, there's a thread on that too, which will give you loads of info.
Hope you feel better soon
