Morphine Alternative?

My doctor just put me on 15 mg of morphine. The only thing I notice is that it makes me feel nauseous, agitated and sleepy and I'm still in pain. Is there something different that he can safely put me on that is stronger. I'm not too worried about getting nauseous, because I have zofran, but I need something for the pain. Because I have four herniated disc on top of the crohns.

Morphine Alternative

I'm sure they gave me morphine in my IV when I first had surgery, cause when they gave it to me, my vision would literally bounce & I felt NO pain. It didn't make me nauseous but later they switched me to Vicadin, don't know if that would work for you or not but it worked for me.

I have heard good things about a Fentanyl pain patch. Haven't tried it myself, but you may want to look it up.

@ Survivor - Fentanyl pain patch with Toradol was the best combo for me. I hated morphine as it made me nauseated, itchy and lethargic.

That's good ideas from all of you, I will tell the doc to put me on something different, but I'll never ask for something directly because he will think I'm a seeker, but that would be hard to do considering I have herniated disc and crohns
