Well I cannot say i'm surprised, I mean frankly I didn't need an MRI to tell me that cause how everything feels lately. But thats what it shows. I haven't seen the radiologist report yet but doc said he "took a look" at the MRI and it does indeed show "worsening inflammation." thats depressing. albeit expected. the more I think about it the suckier I feel. Maybe I had to see that to believe it, even if I already knew it.

So now its back to treatment, He wants me on humira or cymzia - I have been on humira before, not cymzia. I am contemplating counterproposing entocort. but mostly I feel bummed out about the results and unhappy that I have to choose between frequent self injection of humira (which Ive done before many times and grew to dislike) or the frequent self injection of cymzia, which I have to assume is an identical experience. What a choice? Treat with injections, or treat with injections. I'm taking the pill! (After I get through the dissapointment i feel over these tests results.)

I had one severe flare after my resection years back that landed me in hospital. They put me on imuran then, with prednisone for a few weeks, and I went on to have remission for 4 years. I am not saying you should take imuran, just that its possible to feel better, even if you have a setback after surgery. Good luck.

I am sorry the inflammation is back so quickly after your surgery. I sure hope a new treatment plan gets things under control soon!

Hang in there!

okay I promised to write further when I received the MRI radiologist report, which states: "distal ileal wall thickening and hyperemia and new small ascites and new distal ileal dilation consistent with active crohns" and "multiple borderline enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes adjacent to the distal ileum."

So I guess that's not good. I'm leaning at this point to try the entocort, versus going back on humira or trying cimzia. Why not try entocort for the next 6 months, due a scope, and if it isn't better, then I can give up and go back to humira?

Entocort should do something should it not?

Entocort is intended to treat acute flares, Humira and Cimzia are intended to be used as maintenance therapy. It sounds like (especially with your disease returning so quickly) a maintenance therapy is going to be necessary. Entocort might help get your inflammation under control in the short term, but I don't think it will cut it in the long run.

I hope whatever you choose, it works for you and gets your disease under control for a long time. Good luck.
