My Consultation Today

Hiya everybody, hope you are all ok?

I've had my consultation today with gastro, and it went well!
Dr. Bassi said I can start on Humira! Yay!
He wants me to try completely tapering off Pred first, and if I have a bad flare up, to phone his secretary and she will get the ball rolling with an xray for TB, and the Humira.
Because I've managed to get to 10mg this week without any D or pain, he wants to wait and see if I can get to zero with just the Pentasa. He reckons that I might be able to do this, and remain in remission for a bit before starting the Humira. But it's in my notes now that he has oked the Humira. His philosophy is 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' and I'm happy to wait and see too. All it takes is a phonecall to his secretary if I cant taper off, and whilst I'm waiting for TB xray, I can up the dose again til the shots.
So fingers crossed now for the next 2 weeks that I can do this!
At least I know now that Humira is waiting for me! :lol:
