...Because good Lord, I swear, I'm passing food I'm going to eat next year. Yep, it can tell the future and has decided why wait until I actually eat something to pass it. Let's just get a jump start on it ahead of time.

And on a slightly unrelated note, I may go waking someone soon to look at my butt. The one inflamed feeling, super tender spot seems to have something going on there. Not entirely sure what... a fissure maybe? Though it hurt there before the scope and he made no mention of fissures. But it's definitely a large, gaping wound.

Yeah, I've lost all sense of modesty. Heck, if it wasn't slightly inappropriate, at this point, I'd probably snap a pic to post up and ask y'all what in Hades is that.

Hmm sounds like maybe a fistula in the beginning stages maybe before it breaks the skin. Have you ever had them?

Nope, no fistulas. And I just had a scope like 2.5 weeks ago. So I'm clueless.

No drainage from the cut/wound/whatever that I can note.

Yup sounds like what I have, GI told me 2 years ago it was a fistula, had it all checked out and was told hopefully it will heal on its own. Doesnt hurt at all any more though, just a big hole.

Yeah what fog ducker said. You should be ok, just keep an eye on it, and make sure it doesn't get bigger and swell more.

I would call your GI and tell them about that spot and see if they can see you. In the meantime try and keep it as clean as possible. Use a sitz bath if you have one or take frequent soaks. I hope it feels better soon.

Oh Jess, sounds like you really need to get to a doctor. With the fever as well you could possibly have an infection. please get it checked out!

If it looks like a cut, and happens to feel like you're pooping out razor blades 9stings) then it's likely a fissure...still a good idea to let the doc have a look-see.

Feel better soon :)

Hi December,

I've had several anal fistulas and they aren't fun. I had two heal on their own, but one had to be surgically removed. Many times they start off as an anal abscess that then starts to drain through a hole to the skin (fistula) or other tissue. I always found hot baths to be helpful with the pain and tenderness. If you have a fever, you MUST go to the doctor since if the abscess doesn't go away, you will need antibiotics.

Also, they may not find a fistula with a scope since the opening can be small. Mine wasn't found until I did a barium enema x-ray.

Hi Jess,

I would be pretty careful if I were you, these things can grow or change quickly sometimes. I can tell you from personal experience it is no fun to be laying butt facing up with a bunch of specialists staring at your bum and saying, "Nope never seen anything like it, What the hell is that thang?"

I would also be very very careful with soaps and bath stuff. the perfumes and ingredients can cause you agony to such a sensitive area with open skin. I would go to your local pharmacy and buy a soap called Cetaphyl (?sp) it is a soap made for sensitive areas and will be a life saver for you.

Good luck to you dear, I hope you are feeling much better really soon!:(
