So just wanted to give a bit of an update. I have not been on here since my surgery, which was just over 6 weeks ago. The surgery went very well, although i didnt want to wake up afterwards... Scared my family & the surgeon just a little. But was able to go home after only 4 days, which was fantastic! BM's returned after 5 days... Still suffering with D, but the valve between my small & large intestines was removed, so i am told this is quite normal.. I ended back up in hospital after 3 weeks, suffering with excrutiating pain, even worse than when i came out of surgery! So, i spent another 4 days in hospital, heavily medicated, while they continued to tell me that there was nothing wrong, and they didnt think it could possibly be related to my surgery.... My surgeon was away on holidays, but as soon as he returned i was off to see him for a second opinion, as i was still in agonising pain. He reassured me that as they couldnt find anything wrong, that it was in fact, very likely to be pain related to healing & settling from my surgery. God i wish he had of mentioned this earlier!! Not to worry, this settled down after another week or so. Since then i have been recovering very well & returned to work, on reduced hours this week. I am extremely tired, and if i have overdone it, my tummy gives little niggling pains, to remind me that all is not just right yet!! But overall, am feeling so much better than before my surgery and am hoping that this is the start of a new me. One can only hope!!
