Hi all,

thank you again for all of your help over the past week - it is so nice to feel a bit of hope again.

I have tried to research up the results of my biopsy as my specialist gastroenterologist is not keen on discussing them with me (telling me basically that all of my problems are in my head and that my 'weight loss' is purposeful and that an eating disorder diagnosis is more apporopriate = HELLO I CANNOT EAT WHEN I FEEL SICK ALL OF THE TIME, HAVE SEVERE CRAMPING PAIN, THROW UP INVOLUNTARILY AND SUFFER BOTH CONSTIPATION + DIARRHEA ON A DAILY BASIS

Sorry just needed to vent :( i'm just not a fan of doctors looking at your medical history and simply judging you off that, it isn't fair. I have OCD, and because of that the doctor is convinced it is psychological, rather than physical, problem (despite my psychiatrist ringing and talking to her to tell her that it isn't, oh well)

Can someone please help me interpret these results and are they suggestive of Crohn's disease?

This report says the doctor took nine biopsy specimens from various parts of the gut ranging from the esophagus to the rectum. Most of them showed either normal appearance or mild, non-specific inflammation. There were no ulcers or granulomas observed, which suggest that you do not have active Crohn's or UC. There were no signs of viral, bacterial, or parasitic infections.

There were some elevated levels of certain types of white blood cells, eosinophils and basophils, observed in parts of your esophagus. Eosinophils are the cells that regulate immune responses to parasites and can also be elevated in a wide variety of conditions such as allergies or autoimmune conditions. Eosinophilic esophagitis was observed and is usually seen as a reaction to food allergies, which may account for some or all of your symptoms. Basophils are also involved in allergic reactions and play a role in wound healing.

I hope this helps, but you really should discuss these results with your doctor. An interpretation by strangers online is a poor substitute for a good consultation with your doctor.

Thank you for your help :) I'm still not sure what the 'cryptitis - level II' refers to, and they did see a few ulcers and red inflammed tissue visually when doing the endoscopy/colonoscopy according to those notes.

I would discuss these with my specialist, but she just brushes over them and says it isn't important. I'm still very confused why she is so dismissive of me, but there isn't much I can do. Good medical professionals make all the difference I have come to realise :(

When these scopes where done, I had been on a three month course of antibiotics and also taken corticosteroids in that time (for unexplained arthritis in my feet, I think it was entero something?) so would that have made a difference?

My fecal calprotectin was 95 at this time, and I have been taking iron + B12 supplements due to chronically low levels.
