Need Help

Hi was wondering if anyone can help me as I am in a panic.

I was diagnosed with crohns last year after a couple of flair ups, I was put on Messalazine (1.2g 3 times a day).

I then got another flair up and was put on pred ( 60mg a day ), after a while on them i have been put on Azathioprine (200mg a day).

The problem is I started to get better (well apart from a few problems like joint pain), but I have started to get worse again as of yesterday, I started getting light headed and the blood and pains have returned also I have been sick.

I was wondering what the next step will be if my problems continue I am really panicing about going in to have an op, has anyone any advice for me?

I'm sorry, i can't offer any help as to what would be the next step, as i'm still waiting for diagnosis myself, but i would keep an eye on things, and if not better in a couple days give your GI a call. I hope things improve for you though!

Hi Samarc....My GI always stresses that I call him if I feel like I am getting sicker.....That is my advice for you....I hope you feel better.

I agree with Imp. If things are headed backwards it is best to contact your GI. He may have a certain agenda on how to handle your CD.

Get yourself back to that GI sweetie. There are lots of options before surgery - it's not somethng they do lightly. Maybe IV Hydrocortisone could kck things in to touch.

I am having a flare at the moment despite taking pred and 6mp... The doc I saw today said being on the drugs won't always prevent another flare.

Do your bowels a favour and get checked out soon you poor thing.
