New crohnie

Well I am very new to this. I was diagnosed 2 month ago with crohns in the small intestine. so far no relief. So far had a colonoscapy and ct scan. get a small bowel fallow though next week. Kinda scared about that since at the moment I can't keep anything down more than a few minutes and I am constipated. funny thing is my diarrhea ended the minute i got on the meds just can't beat the cramps and puking all the time. lost 70lbs so far and lossing at least 5lb a week. great weight lose program any ideas advise welcome. cirantly on budesonide 9 mg and pentasa 3000mg daily

Hey Tim and a big welcome. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis but I'm glad you've found the forum. The sbft is a good test, especially for showing if there is narrowing which from your symptoms I think you might have.
Did you get any feedback on the other tests?
The vomiting is concerning anyway, but also in regard to the barium contrast you have to take for the test. it's not the most palatable stuff!
I think I'd phone my GI or the radiology dept number if you have it and explain your concerns.

I am sorry to hear you are still struggling to feel well despite the meds - how long have you been on these? Have you made your doc aware of the contiued symptoms? Are you able to keep any liquids down at all?

Just been on these meds 2 weeks. Today I seem to be able to keep water and broth down so for. so that's a good thing. I let the doc know earlier this week of the new symptoms, then it was bloating and vomiting. At least the bloating stopped. I was on anti spazmatics for the cramping. I seem to bloat after I started those so I stopped them 2 days ago and the bloating stopped. anyone else find that Hyoscyamine causes bloating? Is was way worse than cramping pain. my stomach got hard as a rock and huge.

Have you had the SBFT yet? Like Gumbletum, I wonder about the potential of narrowing in your intestines causing some of your issues.

You may also want to discuss the idea of enteral nutrition with your doctor.
