I was diagnosed recently (Dec 2011) with crohns after having suffered for four years with symptoms. I saw so many doctors, most of whom didn't take me seriously. One doctor even removed my appendix on a hunch that that was the problem. I then developed stitch granulomas from the appendisectomy. Anyway, now that I've been diagnosed and treated (with entocord and various courses of cortisone) i was feeling much better. Until a few days ago when i unexpectedly started experiencing severe pain and diarrhea once again. I don't know what to take for pain because nothing I've tried thus far has helped. I also don't know what to do about my uncontrollable diarrhea. Im still new to this whole crohns thing, and being ill is really getting me down. Im trying to stay positive but it's difficult when you're in pain. Im glad to be a part of this forum, and look forward to receiving advice and good vibes :)

Hi lolly and welcome! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering right now :( *hugs*

I realize you were on entocort, but when you say cortisone, do you mean cortisone injections or corticosteroids? Are you on any medications right now?

Where specifically is your pain?

Have you tried any diets or made any dietary exclusions?

We're here for you! Please give us a little more information and hopefully we can point you in a new direction or two.

Hi David, thanks for the reply.
I think the cortisone i was on was a corticosteroid because it was a capsule, a medication called pulmison. It gave me headaches and bad fever.
The only medication that Im on now is the entocort and probiotics. I just came off an antidepressant called lexamil. My doc gave it to me to help me manage my stress, which was aggravating the crohns.
The pain is in my entire abdomen, but recently it's been concentrated to the right hand side of my stomach.
Im on a low residue diet which definitely helps. At the moment Im trying to eliminate all foods that can possible aggravate my crohns. I saw a dietician who helped with this.
My biggest problem is trying to stay positive when Im not well, because i tend to want to give up instead of be strong, which Im sure won't help me recover.
Any advice would be great

It sounds like the Entocort isn't enough. Have you talked to your doctor to let them know that you flared back up? If so, what did they say?

Hi Lolly and welcome to the forum, I am sorry to hear that you are not doing so well at the moment  How are things today and have you been able to get in contact with your doc about this?
