Hi Philly,
I am fairly new to this forum but I can tell you there is a wealth of information here and I feel you when it comes to the fatigue and issues you face. I am with you all the way and will pray for you! Look under foods and diets as a source and these great people will share with you so much information! Best wishes to you!:welcome:

Welcome to the forum!! Glad you are on here. For your diet, a low residue diet helps. I avoid dairy, sugar and wheat. We know all about taking alot of meds, can I ask what meds are you on? Some are better than others, and it is a trial and error for everyone. Protein is good but most of that comes from meat or nuts which is hard to digest for some. I can eat old cheese but not medium or cream cheeses. To help stop the diahreah, eat applesauce with no sugar added and bananas, natural binders and good for you. Hope you feel better soon. :hang:

For protein, lean white meat and fish is probably safest. And eggs. You might also want to look at supplementary shakes to ensure you absorb enough calories.

Hi Philly
and welcome

I would recommend the low residue diet too!
If you have a scoot round the threads you will find others like you who want to put weight and muscle back on. We have a member called BWS (Benson) who has a lot of info on this, bodybuilding stuff and diet etc.
hope you stick around, lots of support here for you
lotsa luv

Hello! I totally understand your pain. I am also on 22 pills a day (such a pain!) I am just starting my medication and diet. Good luck with everything and I am here to chat if you ever need it!

Welcome Philly, I take Iron to help with the tiredness, and B12 injects, they really help me and I can tell when they start to wear off. Good luck and I hope you find something that works for you.

Hey man, I'm in to the fitness, not so much pure bodybuilding but yano!

I've found that after my operation I was still able to add a lot of weight with a good diet with complex carbs, efas, lots of protein!

Hey thanks for the kind words and replies...ive been in the dumps with all this crap for a few weeks when they jumped my meds up again.. so knowing there is other people going threw everything i am .. helps alot..I am detirmened to make the best of this and live a great life..I am happy and willing to help others on the way.. Thanks Again
Tim

Hey Philly and Welcome!

Lots of us can commiserate on the fatigue topic. It's best not to fight it and to make sure you get plenty of rest.

You'll find lots of advice on diet on the threads. Check with your doc on your iron and other levels and make sure you are supplementing when necessary.

Maybe a dietician can help too. Do you see a Philly doc? I see Dr. Osterman at Penn Presby. They have a great GI staff over there, and at Jeff too.

Good luck - I hope you get to feeling better soon. Remember to take care of yourself and DON'T OVERDO IT!!

Hey Philly, first of all, thank you for your service!! Secondly, welcome to the forum!! There is a lot of info for you in the food and diet section but you've probably found that by now. Good luck!!
