Hello Everyone,
My name is Andrea, and I am 44 and was diagnosed with Crohns Disease in 1993. By the time the diagnosis was made, I needed a bowel resection. That was done in November 1993. It was a hard time as my children were only 5 and 3 at the time.
I had 5 years remission before it came back in 1998. Since then we have been trying to control it using drugs, with varying degrees of success. At the moment I am taking 200mg of azathioprine, 3mg budesonide, folic acid, 75mg topirimate (migraine) 75 mg pregabalin (arthritis) 300mg quinine sulphate each day. Saw a different gastroenterologist yesterday and now I need a bile salt absoprtion scan.
Has any member had one of these?
Most of my joints now have arthritis in them, so if its not pain from the Crohns its pain from that.
Anyway I have two wonderful grandchildren who cheer me up no end.
