Hi! To introduce myself, I was diagnosed with CD in August 2006 after suffering from symptoms of a bowel obstruction. I've since had three small bowel resections and have not achieved remission even though I've tried methotrexate, Remicade, and Imuran. I am currently on Remicade and Imuran (have been on Remicade for 3 years) and my last surgery was a doozy filled with awful complications. I was in the hospital for 2 months. I've seen 4 doctors, including IBD specialists, and I wanted to join this board to hopefully learn new treatment options and to provide support for others. Nice to meet you!

Hi Sybil and welcome! I am sorry to hear you haven't achieved remission after trying so many treatment options. Have you seen any improvement with adding in Imuran?

If you are interested in different options, I am sure you'll find the Treatment Forum helpful. There are sub forums devoted to the different drugs such as Remicade and Imuran. But you may also want to take a peek in the Humira sub forum. Many members who didn't respond to or stopped responding to Remicade have had success with Humira.

Thanks, Jill! Unfortunately, I haven't seen any improvement on Imuran. My disease is really determined to stick around. I am going to check out the treatment forum because my next two options are Humira or Cimzia, but we're going to wait one more Remicade cycle to see if the combo kicks in.

I'm sorry that your surgery was such a traumatizing event. I hope that you don't have to go that route for a LONG time! My fingers are crossed for you that you find a way out of your current mess. :hug: Remember you're not alone.
