Hello everyone.

I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on this, please. I'm confused. I tried googling the information, but it didn't quite clear up my doubt.

My gastro prescribed Nytroglycerin 0.2% ointment for a fissure. I'm currently in Maryland, USA for vacation and better medical treatment. I'm originally from Puerto Rico. Because I'm in Maryland, I have no insurance, so the ointment is going to cost me hundreds of dollars. But since I'm desperate and I'm going back to P.R. on the 15th of August, I have to get the medicine now and start the treatment.

However, my mother (back in P.R.) went to CVS (a pharmacy) and found something called Nitro-Bid. The thing is, according to the pharmacist, Nitro-Bid comes either in 30mg or 60mg, and it costs around $45.

So, I need to know if it's the same thing under a different name, if it's used for the same purpose, and if the strength (0.2% and 30/60mg) is the same but in a different measure.

Thanks all.
