Hello everybod,

i can't remember the last time I ate something and it stayed in my stomach for more than an hour:yrolleyes: . I haven't eaten anything in four days now due to the fear of the pain my bowel unleashes on me(I'm beginning to feel like it doesn't like me). Last time I went like this, I didn't eat for around 2 weeks and there were talks of naso-gastric feeding which I really do not want.:eek2:
I have been trying to eat little things but it doesn't like them either.
How long have any of you gone without eating? and has anyone had to be tube fed before?

I'm still smiling and looking forward to christmas! hope you're all well and smiling too :)

lots of hugs Emmy x :panda:

Longest the hospital starved me was 2 weeks around my first surgery.
Few months later I had to have a picc line put in my arm to feed me TPN
for 4 months. Not too much fun. makes you miss food, despite how it can
hurt the tummy sometimes...

Sweetie I've gone for months in the past year without solid food. During those months I went for up to 5 days in a row without anything but water or broth. You start to feel like a starving Ethopian....

When you do put food in your tummy, the naseau is almost instant... and if the food stays down for some reason it will cause the pain in your intestines as it passes over the inflamation and ulcers... oh joy!

Do I have it down? What you are going through?

I'm determined to beat this, and not withdraw into my shell over it. I gave up on eating several times over the past year - but what can you do? You eventually get so frickin hungry....
So I put myself on a liquid diet for weeks, and then started with really soft low-residue food. No wheat, nothing out of a box or a can. Back to liquid only diet when I feel fragile....And I excercise as much as I can. I want my body back under MY control but I realize it's gonna take some work....
Now I'm up to real food at least twice a week, and my pants are starting to fit.

I hear people whine about being hungry all the time. "Oh I missed a meal!"

/rolleyes

I'm frickin STARVING and my body won't let me eat. And my family refuses to understand (why don't you just make a sandwich or something?) Arrggghhhh

Hang in there Chesire, you aren't alone - and you will make it. /grin
