My sister is a 31 years old female patient with crohns disease who is bleeding persistently for last 8 days.
She presented with perforated colon for which she underwent diversion colostomy one 29th July 2013, one week later she bled from duodenal ulcer which was controlled endoscopically.
Again she had bled from colostomy bag found to have caecal ulceration bleeding controlled endoscopicaly and one more episode from distal ileum which was again controlled with hemoclipps.
She has undergone multiple angiomebolizations (for gastroeduodenal, jejunal and two times ileal branches). Last angioembolizaton was on 16th Ausgust 2013. Today again she had bled but angiogram was negative. On 10/11th August she received first dose of Infliximab and other medications are Steroids, Azathioprine, Pentasa, Transmine, Vitamine K, PPI. For nutrition she is receiving PPN.
She has received more than 20 pack cells. Her DIC workup repetitively so far negative.
We are struggling with this unfortunate Lady who herself is doctor.
I need support in her management what else we can do.

Really need help,
You think she will die?

This is horrible, what a summer of hell for her. If she is bleeding nonstop she needs to go to the emergency room right now. Either drive her or call an ambulance but she cannot be at home. She needs to be examined and possibly get a blood transfusion if the amount of blood loss warrants it.

Yes she's been in icu, n has had about 20 or more units of blood. They keep doing red tag n engioplasty n endoscopes..........
Different bleeding sites appear, has this happened to anyone?
