Hi all

Well as the title says I'm Ill again !
Mon I saw my gp who said she would speak to my gi an call me about swapping from budesonide to pred.
She never called me back to tell me what was said when she promised she would !
So today I went along to my gp again an saw a locum, he said the doc spoke to my gi's secretary an keep on as I am app brought forward to 1st aug .
So I said no this is awful I can't take much more I'm in agony I have black tar diarrhoea an I'll just end up in hosp on the weekend , so he said up the budesonide to 4 a day .
I spoke to my pharmacist and max dose is 3 a day
So I called my gi's secretary myself and I'm waiting for a call back.

I just can't take ne more I feel like I've got no where to turn what else can I do apart from out of hours gp on the weekend an end up in hospital , it should b so simple for my gi to just help me out !!
I haven't ate since mon an I'm still having d but it's like just 1 dollop of black tarry oil every hour which I've never had !!
I'm physically exhausted, an I'm struggling to even drink water in case of more d !
The pain is getting too much an if I could take my guts out myself I would !

I guarantee I'll be in hosp by next week it's just stupid when they could help me now !

How frustrating! I know people who have taken 6 entocort a day for a while.. and done fine with it. That being said, the black tarry stools are not the best sign. I don't know what your hospital is like (I live in fear of mine) but it may be the easiest and best option for you if things don't settle. I guess you are drinking ensure and electrolytes and all that stufff...
take care.

Hello Jenny
sorry you are having such a bad time.
Tarry stools can be indicative of internal bleeding and it requires immediate medical attention.
It looks as though you should be heading for the hospital emergency room as soon as possible and get it all checked out.
Hope you will get the help you need.
Can you see a different GI in the future?

Head for A&E: black tarry d is a medical emergency. It needs to be investigated and treated.
Ask to seen by the duty gastroenterologist.

I agree. Unless your local hospital is really bad. In that case, ask a friend to drive you to the nearest good hospital. Do you have a research hospital near you? Sometimes they are quite helpful. Take care.
