I had my first symptoms of Crohn's Disease a couple months ago and was diagnosed shortly after. Luckily my case seems to be on the mild side compared to many. I'm currently training for the Ironman in Hawaii and am having problems finding good nutrition options that don't cause me cramping or bloating. Both gels and bars seem to cause me problems. Anyone that runs or cycles have any nutrition options that seem to work well?

The only thing I drink during exercing is PhD Battery +/- which contains fructose and maltodextrin to give a slow release of energy (no spike). I havent bothered trying anything else as this gives me energy and doesnt play my stomach up.

I chose it as my stomach doesnt like caffeine and most other drinks contain that. For some reason haribo type sweets play me up so thats out of the question. I dont think nutrition plays much of a part during the exercise as energy and replacement minerals + water is more important.
